The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The attacks come after nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
